Who’s affected
Details

An estimated 100 million card transactions were intercepted when a server at Heartland was compromised by what appears to be hackers. Card affected are Visa and Mastercard, to include both debit and credit transactions.

The data stolen does not include name, address, SSN or unencrypted PIN. Although, the information involved is enough for a thief to fabricate a duplicate card.

The FBI and Secret Service are in the process of investigating this case. Heartland has not notified those affected to date as a result of analyzing the data collected to determine who is affected.

If you are a cardholder of Mastercard or Visa we recommend that you closely monitor your accounts for fraudulent activity. You will receive a notification letter from Heartland within the next 45 days that will provide you with more details.

Monster.com

Name, Address, email address, phone number, user id and password

Who’s affected
Details

An investigation is under way and it’s not clear how many job seekers have been affected.  Monster.com hosts the site for over 1.6 million resumes.

Hackers apparently accessed Monster’s database and stole information. Monster has used the media to notify job seekers instead of sending emails that may be viewed as spam by users. Users are directed to request new user ids and passwords. Users are also advised not to post personal information in memo post areas of the resume menu.
