Nine Wisconsin residents were affected by this data breach.

Those affected have been notified via letter and have been instructed to place a fraud alert on their credit  report, close the credit card involved in the breach and regularly monitor their credit reports.

Bank of New York (BNY) Mellon – two divisions  Shareowner Services and Working Capital Solutions

Who’s affected
Details

Clients of both divisions of BNY Mellon were affected involving an undetermined amount of records lost. An initial investigation indicates approximately 270,000 individuals and 409 institutions were involved in the Shareowner Services breach alone. It’s expected to reach over 4 million individuals affected.

Shareowner Services – In late February back up tapes contained in a box were noticed missing. An investigation determined who was affected. Those affected received letters and free credit monitoring for a year.
Working Capital Solutions – In late April back-up tapes were lost while in transport to a Pittsburgh facility. Those affected received letters and free credit monitoring for a year.
